#11 - Point Guard - Rogaska Crystal (Slovenia)
Davis is a quick point guard that can positively impact the game in a number of ways. He can push the ball and keep constant pressure on the transition defense. His handle is tight. Davis has the ball on a string and weaves in and out of defenders...
One week after the departure of Matic Rebec (183-PG-95, agency: PEPI SPORT) to Krka, Rogaska inked American Dee Davis (183-PG-93, college: Xavier, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) for the remainder of the season. He arrives from Canton Charge. The Charge are the affiliates of the NBA powerhouse Cleveland Cavaliers. Davis averaged 9.2 points, 2-5 rebounds, 6.1 assist and 1.3 steals for Xavier in 35 NCAA games last season . During his career at Xavier, Davis amassed 494 assists, 133 steals and 874 points. The most notable moment of his stellar senior season was the dagger three he hit against rival Cincinnati in the Crosstown Shootout. Davis guided the team through the NCAA tournament and nearly orchestrated the would-be defeat of Arizona in the Sweet 16.
Dee's numbers slowly crawled a tad higher every consecutive season in his four years of college. Well not all his numbers did, but most were on the upward trajectory. In Dee's last go around, he put up a line of 9.0/6.0/2.4 and he put up his 9 ppg while shooting .404/.321/.721.
Dee is the kind of player that made Xavier special. Players who spend an entire four-year career with a program generate a bond with the fans that can't be replicated by high-level recruits stopping by to bide their time before moving on to get paid to play. A lifelong fan of a program necessarily has more time invested in it than a player will, but with guys like Dee you can see (or maybe just imagine) that he is a Xavier Musketeer as much as he's a college basketball player.
